Coming Soon! Longboard Classic and Chili Cookoff

Mark your calender for two great upcoming events!  The annual “Lip-Rippin’ Chilympics Chili Cookoff” will be Sunday, October 16 at the Hot Fish Club in Murrells Inlet. The event will be from noon until dark!  Surfrider’s 2nd Annual “Longboard Classic” will be held on Saturday, November 5 at Downwind Sails at Springmaid Pier (just south of Damon’s in Myrtle Beach, near 30 Ave. South). Beach Sweep Saturday, Sept. 17th

Beach Sweep/River Sweep is South Carolina’s largest one-day volunteer cleanup event of its kind. Every 3rd Saturday in September, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., thousands of South Carolinians clear beaches, rivers, lakes, marshes, and swamps of aquatic debris.

Art Show to Benefit Grand Strand Chapter

Gaston “Buddy” Locklear is holding an Art Show at I.D. Studios on Wednesday, Sept. 21st in the Litchfield Exchange from 7 p.m. until whenever!  A percentage of the proceeds from sales of his ocean and surf-themed art will be donated to the Grand Strand Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation. Food and beverages will be available, as well as original art and prints from Buddy. Please support Surfrider and your local art scene by making an appearance at the show!

CANCELLED – Paddle Out

Surfrider’s National Paddle Out scheduled for today (Sunday) at Surfside Beach has been cancelled due to Hurricane Ophelia.  The Surfside Beach Police informed us that we cannot have the event due to the expected higher seas and rougher conditions.
