2009 Meeting Announcements

Summary:

We will hold fewer general meetings this year, with a different formats from previous years – we will have a general meeting for the first 30 minutes, a topic of interest for 30 minutes and then social/question and answer time following the topic presentation.

We will hold fewer general meetings this year, with a different formats from previous years – we will have a general meeting for the first 30 minutes, a topic of interest for 30 minutes and then social/question and answer time following the topic presentation.

The executive committee will meet after the general meetings, and also once a month and/or as needed for upcoming projects and events. Any committee work should be done outside of the general meetings as well – we can and should use e-mail and phone for communicating on committee work (details like how many shirts to order, trailer inventory, etc). The meeting schedule for the rest of 2009 is as follows:

Monday, Sept. 14th, 6:30 p.m. at New South Brewing Company (free food!)
Topic: TBA (send suggestions – what would you like to learn about???)

Monday, Nov. 2nd, 6:30 p.m. at the Myrtle Beach State Park (oyster roast!)
Topic: Stormwater Issues, presenter TBA


Events
This year we have a number of events for volunteers, and would like to have a few projects going as well. If you are interested in volunteering for an event or projects, let us know!

Aug/Sept TBA: Withers Swash Sweep and Celebration

Aug TBA: Beach Sweep for the Surfrider Adopt A Beach 15th Ave. S. to 29th Ave. S. in Myrtle Beach
AugĀ 15: Free Surf Clinic at the Guy Daniels Surfoff, Surfside Beach, 8 a.m. to noon
Sept 19: International Beach Sweep/River Sweep (along the Grand Strand)
Oct. 18: 10th Annual Chilympics at Spuds Waterfront, noon until 7 p.m.
