Tuesday, September 16th, 2008The Grand Strand Chapter has adopted a section of Myrtle Beach from 29th Ave. S. to 15th Ave. S. through the SC DHEC Adopt-A-Beach program! We will be responsible for cleaning this section of beach periodically beginning later this fall and through 2009. If you have a group who would like to assist with this effort, please contact us! Withers Swash Sweep & Cookout Part 2
Wednesday, August 27th, 2008Over 75 volunteers from the Grand Strand Chapter of Surfrider, along with members of the CCU Rugby Team, Delti Chi Fraternity and the Scholars Academy participated in the Withers Swash Sweep on Sat. Sept. 13th. The crowd cleaned the park grounds, marsh areas and low-water areas of trash and debris, mostly bottles and paper trash as well as an old tire rim and shopping cart. Lunch, provided by TBone Terry’s BBQ (thanks for the great grub, Terry!) and Papa John’s Pizza, was a big hit with the volunteers after a long, hot morning of trudging through the mud.
Surfrider posts Sea Turtle Awareness signs
Monday, March 20th, 2006Students, teachers, and Surfrider volunteers turned out Saturday morning (March 4) to begin hanging the new Sea Turtle Awareness signs developed by the Surfride Foundation and the Myrtle Beach State Park.
Beach Advisory Committee approves Sea Turtle Signs
