The Surfrider events are our main ways of fundraising which helps our organization work on projects that benefit our community, from Cherry Grove to Georgetown. Our events help to fund projects such as recycling stations along the Jettywalk as well as help Murrells Inlet 20/20 pay for pickup for a year to obtain metrics on how much is being collected as a pilot project to encourage recycling in other areas. We will also use the funds for an anti-plastic bag campaign, Ocean Friendly Gardens placement at area parks, schools, and businesses, and to continue litter prevention efforts throughout Horry and Georgetown counties.
Our chapter is comprised entirely of volunteers and serves the entire Grand Strand from Little River to Pawleys Island encompassing both Horry and Georgetown counties. Our chapter works to keep our beaches and waves clean, educate the public, and protect beach access. For more information about the many projects and events in the area, please feel free to contact us via our website or join us on Facebook (Surfrider Grand Strand) to receive updates.
