Evidently, our beach is an ash tray. At least that is how many of the Grand Strand’s tourists and locals treat it.

Beach Sweep Saturday, Sept. 17th
Beach Sweep/River Sweep is South Carolina’s largest one-day volunteer cleanup event of its kind. Every 3rd Saturday in September, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., thousands of South Carolinians clear beaches, rivers, lakes, marshes, and swamps of aquatic debris.

Surfrider’s National Paddle Out scheduled for today (Sunday) at Surfside Beach has been cancelled due to Hurricane Ophelia. Â The Surfside Beach Police informed us that we cannot have the event due to the expected higher seas and rougher conditions.
